The game's protagonist is a "hunter" or " bounty hunter" named John, who participates in a large-scale, multi-player online shooter called "The Matrix". The game is set in the year 2045, and players must battle through levels to save humanity from a computer virus.
The game was first announced in May of 2009, and was released for Microsoft Windows on October 15, 2009. A Mac OS X version was released on March 12, 2010. A PlayStation 3 version was announced on February 10, 2010 and was released on November 3, 2010. A Wii version was announced on December 23, 2009, and was released on April 24, 2010.
