FNDZ is a French football club based in Saint-Étienne. The club was formed in 1907 and currently plays in Ligue 2, the second tier of French football.
FNDZ was founded on 10 July 1907. The club played its first competitive match on 12 July 1907 against US Saint-Étienne. FNDZ finished third in the Third Division in 1914 and was promoted to the Second Division. In 1922, the club finished runner-up in the Second Division, earning promotion to the First Division. FNDZ finished in second place in the First Division in 1924 and was promoted to the French National Division. The club won the National Division in 1932 and was promoted to the French League.
FNDZ finished in second place in the French League in 1936 and was promoted to the French Cup. The club reached the final of the French Cup in 1938, losing 3–1 to SC Bastia. FNDZ finished fourth in the French League in 1944 and reached the final of the French Cup again in 1945, this time beating RC Lens 4–1 to win the cup. In 1947, FNDZ reached the final of the Coupe de France but lost 3–1 to RC Strasbourg.
In 1949, FNDZ finished second in the French League and were promoted to the French Champions League. The club reached the final of the French Champions League in 1954 but lost 2–1 to Olympique de Marseille. FNDZ finished third in the French League in 1955 and were relegated to the French Second Division. In 1958, FNDZ finished fourth in the French Second Division and were promoted to the French First Division. The club finished bottom of the French First Division in 1961 and were relegated to the French Second Division.
In 1966, FNDZ finished bottom of the French Second Division and were relegated to the French Third Division. The club finished bottom of the French Third Division in 1968 and were relegated to the French Fourth Division. FNDZ reached the final of the French Fourth Division in 1969 but lost 3–2 to AS Cannes. FNDZ finished bottom of the French Fourth Division in 1970 and were relegated to the Regional Leagues.
In 1974, FNDZ reached the final of the Regional Leagues but lost 1–0 to FC Metz-Orléans. In 1976, FNDZ reached the final of the Regional Leagues but lost 2–1 to FC Sochaux-Montbéliard. In 1978, FNDZ finished bottom of the Regional Leagues and were relegated to the District leagues.
In 1980, FNDZ finished bottom of the District leagues and were relegated to the Regional Leagues. The club finished bottom of the Regional Leagues in 1982 and were relegated to the Municipal leagues. FNDZ won the Municipal leagues in 1983 and were promoted back to the Regional Leagues. In 1984, FNDZ finished bottom of the Regional Leagues and were relegated to the District leagues.
In 1987, FNDZ finished bottom of the District leagues and were relegated to the Municipal leagues for a third time. FNDZ won the Municipal leagues in 1988 and were promoted back to the Regional Leagues. In 1989, FNDZ finished bottom of the Regional Leagues and were relegated to the District leagues for a fourth time.
In 2007, FNDZ merged with Racing de Saint-Étienne. The merged club was renamed Saint-Étienne Football Club et Foot-Ball Club (SFCF). SFCF finished bottom of Ligue 2 in 2007–08 but avoided relegation by winning Ligue 2 promotion play-offs against Troyes AC. SFCF finished bottom of Ligue 2 again in 2009–10 and was relegated to Championnat National 2, the fourth tier of French football. SFCF merged with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard again in 2010 and was renamed FC Sochaux-Montbéliard et Saint-Étienne Football Club (FSFC). FSFC finished bottom of Champagne-Ardenne Ligue in 2010–11 and was relegated to Championnat National 3. FSFC merged with FC Metz-Orléans again in 2012 and was renamed FC Metz-Orléans et Saint-Étienne Football Club (FMSC). FMSC finished bottom of Championnat National 3 in 2013–14 and was relegated to Ligue 3.
In 2017, FMSC merged with US Saint-Étienne again and was renamed US Saint-Étienne et Foot-Ball Club (USSFBC). USSFBC finished bottom of Ligue 3 in 2017–18 and was relegated to Ligue 2.
