What is Vault?
Vault is a secure storage system for digital information. It can be used to store files, photos, videos, and other information. Vault can be installed on a computer or mobile device.
Vault headquarters.
The Vault is the headquarters of the Vault-Tec Corporation. Located in the ruins of the Washington D.C. Capitol building, the Vault's primary purpose is to house the nation's nuclear arsenal.
The Vault's construction began in 2077, shortly after the Great War. The Vault was designed by the brilliant minds of Vault-Tec, and was intended as a final safety measure for the United States. Construction was supervised by the company's president, James, and his son, Richard.
The Vault was completed in 2079, and was officially opened to the public two years later. The Vault's first residents were the members of the Lone Wanderer's party, who had been chosen to participate in Vault-Tec's experimental breeding program.
The Vault's population continued to grow over the years, and by 2102 it had reached its maximum capacity of 200,000 people. This growth led to problems; in particular, the limited space caused tensions between the different groups of residents.
In 2142, the inhabitants of the Vault staged a coup d'état, overthrowing President James and seizing control of the Vault. They used their newfound power to reorganize the Vault into a totalitarian state, known as the New California Republic.
In 2246, the New California Republic was defeated by the United States in the Second Great War. As a result, the Vault was recaptured by the U.S. government and closed down.
The Vault is currently inaccessible to the public, and is only open to authorized personnel.
