What is Infinite Launch (ILA)?
The Infinite Launch is a public launch of spacecraft with no planned termination, or “end of mission”. It is an event where a spacecraft is intentionally placed into a stable orbit around a distant celestial body, typically a planet or moon, and left there indefinitely.
The first ILA was launched on February 20, 2006, by the Russian Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos).
