Drunk Robots is a metalcore band from the United States. They have released two full-length albums, "You're Not Alone" in 2007 and "The Distance" in 2009.
The band formed in 2006 in Springfield, Missouri. The band's name is derived from the 1987 film "The War of the Worlds" directed by Steven Spielberg. Drunk Robots was originally a four-piece outfit, with vocalist Brian Cook, guitarist P.J. Demers, bassist Kyle Madigan, and drummer Zac Dille. Demers was replaced by Brent Hocking in 2007.
In 2009, Drunk Robots released their debut album "The Distance". The album was produced by John Feldmann of Sum 41 and 3 Days Notice. The album was also mixed by Michael Brauer of Bad Religion and recorded at his studios in California. The album was released on Equal Vision Records.
The band toured extensively for "The Distance", headlining tours with label-mates From First to Last, I the Mighty, and The Ghost Inside, as well as tours with label-mates Every Time I Die and Asking Alexandria. In late 2009, the band toured with Attack Attack! and Walls of Jericho.
In 2010, Drunk Robots signed to Epitaph Records and released their second album "You're Not Alone". The album was produced by Jason Suecof of Sevendust and The Black Keys, and mixed by Steve Evetts of Megadeth, Slayer, and At The Gates. The album was released on October 25, 2010.
The band toured extensively for "You're Not Alone", headlining tours with From First to Last, Bleeding Through, and Emmure, as well as tours with label-mates Asking Alexandria, The Devil Wears Prada, and Motionless in White.
In early 2012, the band announced that Brent Hocking had departed the band to pursue other opportunities. He was replaced on guitar by Erik Rutan.
In September 2012, Drunk Robots released a new single "Same Difference". The song is part of an upcoming EP entitled "Transitions", which is set to be released on November 17, 2012.
In February 2013, Drunk Robots parted ways with their drummer Zac Dille. He was replaced by Joe Schwarz.
In May 2013, Drunk Robots announced that they had signed to Rise Records and would be releasing their third album in early 2014. The album was produced by Chris Lord-Alge of Mayday Parade, A Day To Remember, and Saosin.
