The 2010 United States Census reported that Aptos had a population of 1,948. The population density was 4,040.0 people per square mile (1,583.5/km²). The racial makeup of Aptos was 1,927 (98.5%) White, 5 (0.5%) African American, 2 (0.2%) Native American, 33 (2.5%) Asian, 3 (0.3%) Pacific Islander, 26 (2.0%) from other races, and 52 (4.0%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 106 persons (8.6%).
The Census reported that 1,948 people (100% of the population) lived in households, 0 (0%) lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and 0 (0%) were institutionalized.
There were 621 households, out of which 303 (50.5%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 437 (72.9%) were opposite-sex married couples living together, 41 (7.2%) had a female householder with no husband present, 20 (3.9%) had a male householder with no wife present.
